Passionate about turning everyday moments into stories that connect
Kaiwera Downs Project
While working as Digital Communications Specialist at Gore District Council, I proactively approached Mercury to create a video showcasing the Kaiwera Downs project. Combining on-the-ground filming with drone footage, I captured aerial perspectives of the site and its machinery to tell the story of the project. The video generated 59,000 views and more than 550 interactions on Council’s Facebook page, which had just 11,000 followers at the time. It was also shared by Mercury and Smith Crane & Construction, extending its reach beyond Council’s own channels.
2025 AgriTech & Innovation Event
As a freelance videographer for Thriving Southland, I captured the AgriTech & Innovation Event through a mix of short-form social media reels and a longer recap video. The content showcased the energy of the event, highlighting innovation across the agri-sector and the connections, ideas and conversations driving the industry forward.
The two examples below demonstrate how short-form and long-form video can work together, each serving a different purpose - from grabbing attention on social media to telling a more complete story of the event.
Long-Term Plan
The Long-Term Plan campaign focused on breaking down barriers by stripping away council jargon and communicating in a way people could actually understand. Through clear, accessible messaging across print, radio, social media, and web, the campaign made it easier for the community to connect with complex topics and feel confident sharing their views. It was incredibly well received the social media video got 25,564 views and 220 interactions, tripling the number of submissions Council had ever received and driving significant engagement from people who don’t usually take part in the LTP process.
Fieldays 2024
The Mystery Creek Fieldays campaign captured the voices and stories of 20 individuals through interviews featured on the Rural Exchange podcast, including politicians, business owners, Olympians, young farmers, and innovators. Across the three days, I also delivered tailored content for clients ensuring their presence was captured and shared in engaging ways. The social campaign brought the event to life with reels, images, and short snippets from interviews—paired with trending audio and creative storytelling to connect with a broad audience. As a result the campaign reached 94,000 organically and there was an increase in engagement on all social platforms.
2024 Council Wrapped
Inspired by Spotify Wrapped, 2024 Council Wrapped was designed to shine a light on the wins, big and small, across every department of Council. With a creative twist, the social campaign captured the highlights of the year in an engaging format that celebrated teamwork, innovation, and the positive impact made in our community. More than just a recap, 2024 Wrapped brought awareness to the stories behind the stats making Council’s achievements visible, relatable, and worth celebrating
